NATURE WALKS IN THE PARK
Why not get out and about and have a nature walk with a purpose: leaves for categorising by size, or creating animal collages, or how about some good old fashioned puddle-jumping? Or how about starting that life-long, completely necessary skill of creating a collection!? Did you have a shoebox full of conkers when you were growing up? A shelf full of the most amazing pinecones? Often it’s easier to leave the house with a clear intention – what could you go out and do? Here’s a great list of local parks from Days Out With the Kids – why not try a different park?

HEDGEHOGS!
What about having a little project about hedgehogs? This is THE time of the year to learn about these wonderful creatures. Do you remember reading Miss Tiggy Winkle by Beatrix Potter?
What do hedgehogs eat? Let us know...
Or you could make your own, collecting some twigs for the spines and making your own air-drying clay hedgehogs? All you need is 2 cups of bicarbonate of soda, 1 cup of cornflour plus more for kneading and rolling out, and 1 ½ cups water. Just mix these together and warm gently, stirring constantly (get those gross muscles working!) for a few minutes until it comes together and can be manipulated by little hands. You can also roll this dough out and use cookie cutters which can dry into ornaments that you can paint! Start practising for Christmas…
