Imaginative Play Through Dressing Up

At Banana Moon Kempston, imaginative play is an important part of helping children explore the world around them.

Recently, our Full Moons have been enjoying dressing up in a variety of different outfits and accessories. From colourful costumes to fun hats and props, the children have had lots of laughter while exploring different characters and ideas.

Dressing up provides wonderful opportunities for children to engage in pretend play, allowing them to express their creativity and imagination while interacting with their friends.

These activities link closely to our Early Learning and Development Programme, supporting children in several areas of development, including:
  • Using props and costumes to support imaginative play
  • Independently choosing resources to represent their ideas
  • Using storytelling and role play to develop communication skills
  • Showing humour and enjoyment during shared play
  • Playing cooperatively and building friendships with others

Through playful activities like these, children develop confidence, creativity and strong social connections with their peers.
