At Banana Moon Kempston, we love providing children with exciting learning experiences that spark curiosity and encourage them to explore the world around them. Recently, our oldest children enjoyed a fantastic visit from the team at ZooLab (https://www.facebook.com/ZooLabUK), who introduced them to a wonderful variety of fascinating animals.
During the session, the children had the opportunity to see, touch and even hold several different creatures, including Bruce the Cockroach, Pip the Tortoise, Tilly the Tarantula, Banana the Snake, Daisy the Leopard Gecko and Bramble the Stick Insect. Each animal gave the children a unique opportunity to discover more about wildlife and the natural world.
As well as being an exciting hands-on experience, the visit encouraged children to ask questions, listen carefully and learn about each animal's habitat, diet and unique behaviours. Experiences like these help develop children's confidence while nurturing a genuine interest in nature and science.
Meeting animals in a safe and supportive environment also encourages empathy and respect for living things. Many children proudly challenged themselves to hold or gently interact with animals they had never encountered before, helping to build resilience and self-confidence through positive new experiences.
At Banana Moon Kempston, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens through real-life experiences. Visits such as ZooLab inspire curiosity, encourage exploration and create lasting memories that support children's learning long after the session has finished.
