Puddle Splashing and Outdoor Learning

At Banana Moon Kempston, we believe that outdoor play offers some of the most exciting learning opportunities for children.

Although we haven’t had any snow in Kempston this winter, the rainy weather has brought something just as fun — lots of muddy puddles! The children wrapped up warmly in their snow suits and wellies and headed outside to enjoy some puddle splashing.

Exploring the outdoors in all types of weather helps children develop confidence and curiosity about the world around them. Splashing in puddles also supports physical development as children jump, move and balance on different surfaces.

Our natural outdoor spaces provide endless opportunities for children to explore, experiment and learn through play. Activities like puddle jumping allow children to experience the environment first-hand while developing coordination, confidence and a love of the outdoors.

Even on rainy days, the garden becomes an exciting place full of discovery and learning.
